The Breakers

For my wife and I this was not a good trip. After a long drive to get there it was fairly late in the evening when we arrived. On entering the appartment we immediately noticed that the place smelled damp. After a look round we noticed that every seating surface had some sort of stain on it. The bathroom was in need of some renovation or at the very least some serious cleaning and the bedroom was so small that you could only use one side of the bed to get in and out. When we saw some large looking bugs we decided not to stay. We were unable to contact anyone at the rental office due to the late hour. All of the surrounding hotels were full so we drove some 15 plus miles back out of town before managing to find a room for the night. Next day we went to the property managers however they were unable to offer any solutions and would not offere a refund. We decuded to go back to the Breakers and rough it out but we only lasted 2 nights before deciding to cut our losses and go home. I would certainley not recomend thisproperty to anyone with children or a couple who are any older than 25 who are looking for something clean. So for two not so comfortable nights out of the 7 I paid for it was expensive. From now on I will stick with a hotel. If you take my advise give this one a miss

“Truly the worst place we've ever stayed”

We stayed in Unit 303 and booked the property via Travel Advantage Network. There is no amount of cleaning that will save this unit, it needs to be completely gutted! The bathroom floor was infiltrated with mold along with some other green growth around a toilet leak on the wall. The kitchen table leg had been "repaired" with duct and electrical tape. The same can be said for the towel rack in the bathroom. The carpet appears to have been replaced recently, but the corners and areas around the baseboards were black with dust and dirt. We were afraid to walk around the unit or even take a shower without wearing flip flops. We took many pictures documenting the atrocity and I'll have them loaded up here once I get them off of my camera. I'm so glad that we left our infant son with my in-laws because I can guarantee that we would not have stayed if we was with us.

“Great Property & Location!”

The Breakers

We visited Hilton Head for the first time 8/11-14 and picked the Breakers specifically for the condo, beach/shopping/dining location. We had unit 214 (1 bedroom) ocean front on the 2nd floor (2 flights of stairs, no elevators) which was perfect for us. We had the sliding glass doors open most of the time when we were there and could close a door and seperate it from the bathroom and bedroom (also the washer/dryer). Everything was in working order and looked pretty much like the pictures posted on Expedia. Pull out couch with a set of sheets when we arrived. they clean the condo before you arrive and after you leave (the floor was still wet when we arrived so they do it shortly before you get there so it is nice and clean). They also leave enough detergent for 2 loads for the diswhasher, 1 load of Surf clothes detergent and a small container of dish detergent. Plenty of pots, pans, dishes, silverware, cups and glasses, 1 dish towel and kitchen wash cloth, blankets, extra pillows. Bedroom is small, but Queen bed and full dresser with drawers and there is a 3 drawer stand for the tv in the living room and drawers in side tables if needed. There is a kitchen table with 4 chairs and nice size balcony with 2 chairs & a table and 1 lounge chair. We were very comfortable and will visit again for sure. You can rent bikes for $18/week across the street at Coligny Plaza as well. Everyone rides bikes around. There are lots of paved bike trails and paths and a bike lane in traffic. Beach is beautiful and lots of beach when tide is out, which is for the most part of the day. These are individually owned condos that are rented out through RH Realty (across the street with shopping & dining) and they were very friendly and helpful. It was homey and we felt like we were in someone's vacation home so it was very comfortable and cozy. We used the pool once late in the evening and it was very nice. Lots of lounge chairs and an extra sun deck around the pool. We enjoy the beach so we pretty much stayed there during the day. I would recommend it to anyone for a nice vacation, family or couples. Will post pics later.

“Fantastic Location”

For the price the accomodation was ok, but the location made it a bit special. Right on the beach with views of the sunrises over the ocean.

We went at the end of October and the weather was very good, so we were able to do lots of walking and cycling on the beach.

Savannah is within easy reach and worth a visit, and we also took a dolphin 'cruise' around the island which was interesting.

There is a plaza located directly across the road, and plenty of places to eat within easy reach.

“Very nice place!”

We went to the Breakers 2 years in a row. The location is very good - easy walking access to beach, shops, restaurants. The room is small but perfect for a family of 4. Most rooms have a view of the pool and the rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floor have ocean views. There is no elevator. Each unit has it's own washer and dryer which was great! The beach is clean and the waves are not too big. Hilton Head is a beautiful place and great for family vacations. Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.
