We stayed at this hotel 10 years ago and the expierence was much different. Upon check in, we were taken to a room that over-overlooked a green that was under construction. There was heavy equipment present so we could not open the door as the noise was loud. The front-desk was indifferent and thank goodness for Jon, the Super bellman which got us a 1 brd suite instead. If not for him I would have been very upset with the staff responce.
Before we went I knew they were completing construction as I spoke to the desk and they assured me they were completed. Once I got to the pool after check-in, we shared it with on-going construction with power tools cutting tile, very annoying for the relaxation of the pool! The pool chairs are very neo-modern but very uncomfortable to sit in.
Most of the staff did not greet you when they passed as what I am used to from this caliber of hotel. We played tennis and the courts are in much need of repair and may not have been renovated as of yet. The tennis pavilion was unstaffed and looked abandioned.
I would say they have a lot of things to work out before I wouuld go back and spend the kind of money they are asking for. This hotel seemed like a Marriott instead. However, the bed was GREAT.
Before this hotel, we were at the Fairmont in Wailea and would highly recoment this as it is the closest to the 4 Sesons we have found.
