We just returned from a week's stay at #99 Kulima Estates East. I would not recommend renting this condo but do not want to discourage you from renting a condo at Turtle Bay altogether. Just be aware that the pictures you see on the internet do not always represent what you will see when you get there! Which is true of any location I suppose. The problem at #99 is that it is old and seriously needs updating. The bathroom and kitchen are old and almost falling apart. Other issues have nothing to do with age but care of the landlord. For example, the towels were like those you would get at a Motel 6 (in fact, I'm not sure the owner DIDN'T get them there.) Also, the very thin sheets had several holes in them. That is really unacceptable. If the owner has had problems with people stealing or not taking care of his linens then he should charge a security deposit, not provide substandard items. Also, he advertised a barbque grill but it turns out it was at the pool, not on the lanai or belonging to the unit. It was close to the pool as described. I could really go on with issues we were disappointed with (eg. the bedroom faces the parking lot and very thin curtains did not block out lights). But for visiting the North Shore I would recommend this location. There really isn't much else of the (potential) quality. The grounds are very nice. You are NOT part of Turtle Bay Resort but there are public beaches there and it's a very short walk. Also, if it is your first trip to Oahu it is not such a far trip to Waikiki by miles but do not be deceived - the traffic on Hwy 83 travels at a snails pace and is two lanes. It is a good hour to Waikiki when traffic isn't bad. All of this being said, we have family on that part of the island and will probably stay at these condos again - we will just be more careful to check references next time!

There is a lot of confusion on this web site, due to the fact that the condos are privately owned and managed by different companies. The condos are on a property called Kuilima Estates. They complex is not called "The Estates at Turtle Bay", as this web site implies! The Estates at Turtle Bay is the name of our company, and it appears to the public that ALL of the condos being reviewed are ours. Not so! We manage about 150 of 368 condos and lots of them being reviewed are not ours, including this one. We are getting some bad press which do not deserve. Most of the condos which have bad reviews are managed by other companies. Our company, The Estates at Turtle Bay" is the BEST!
