“Hard to get to! Don't follow the directions on the hotel's website.”

The most annoying thing about this hotel was its relative inaccessibility and the strange layout of the street it is on (I think it was Franklin Boulevard?) According to the directions we had after inputting our address on the hotel's website, the hotel should have been on our left-hand side, but it was actually on our right-hand side, By the time we saw the hotel, there was no way we could get to it from the middle of the boulevard, and it took us practically 10 minutes to figure out how to navigate the roads and get back to the turnoff for the hotel. So, I recommend that if you are printing directions, you should print them from one or two other websites as well, in addition to the hotel's website.

Next annoying thing. We only paid about $90 per night for our one-night stay, so we can't complain too much, but the location was definitely not ideal for us. It was a long drive into town, which is where all our planned activities were. And the surrounding area is full of car dealerships, strip malls, suburban chain restaurants, and a Dunkin Donuts. Not terrible, but not near anything uniquely Philly.

Annoying thing number three- while the shower was quite nice, the bathroom sink was extremely annoying. Every time we turned it on, it sprayed water everywhere. And it was hard to turn hot water on in the sink. It was obviously a very new and hip-looking sink, but I'd rather have one that works normally. Also, the towel rack was located towards the bottom of the hip-looking sink, forcing us to have our towels almost touching the floor and not getting very dry. I chose to hang my towel precariously on one of the hinges of the main door to our room.

The bed was very comfortable, although my boyfriend didn't like the pillows (one pillow was too thin, two pillows was too much.) There was a hip-looking flat screen TV and several hip-looking historical Philadelphia pictures throughout the room, but we would have much rather had a small refrigerator to store drinks in. And instead of a closet, there is a super-hip-looking row of hooks to hang everything on.

Amid all of the super-cool-looking, hip stuff, there is a very shabby looking heater/air conditioner and other aspects of the room that don't look so up-to-date. I'd have to agree with the last poster too, who said that the elevators and common areas looked pretty shabby. Oh, and when we first checked in to our room, there were trash items and used room service items sitting outside of the majority of the rooms in our hallway.

So all in all, we probably would not stay here again. I suppose if we had a friend planning to travel from the north Philly airport and looking for a decent place to stay, we might recommend it to them if they were able to get a good deal. But I saw from the room rates posted on the back of our room's door that our room could go for up to $249- there's no way we'd pay that much for that room!

Thank you for your feedback on your recent visit. The hotel has just completed a $10 million dollar renovation that encompasses all guestrooms, meeting space, restaurant and public areas. The elevators and the pool area are being completed in the month of June and everything will be done!

We diligently work to rectify any situation that occurs during a guest stay and assure you that our maintenance will resolve that issue with your particular sink.

We are located 12 miles form Center City and well suited and convenient for most travelers. We recommend you looking at directions on our website or call us directly to answer any questions.

We do receive lots of compliments about our "hip" rooms and most guests will agree with you that the bedding is fabulous.

Thank you

“Poor value for money; noisey, poor customer service; shabby”

Too much money to pay for inconveniences caused by hotel transitioning from Hilton to Sheridan: construction noise, etc.
Decor:
Furniture and design were redone, rooms do have a nice modular set up however elevators and other common areas were shabby.
Customer service:
Ranged from well meaning tho unknowledgeable to inconsiderate and unhelpful. I was given weekday/weekend rates when I made reservation. However, when I extended they did not advise me of increased rate change. I overheard other guests complain of being charged differently than what they had been originally told.
Cleanliness:
Only had maid come 1 time; didn't wash out tub, yet moved carefully arranged personal items (toothbrush, ech!) to wash off sink.
Services:
Computer broken, supposedly for over a month.
Didn't use fitness room, but looked pretty decent.
The only 'name" hotel in the area, but considering above one might be better off staying at one of the AAA motels nearby for half the money.

The hotel officially converted to Four Points by Sheraton on 1/31/2008. The majority of the construction was complete at that date. We are still working on pool comlex and elevators, both of which will be completed in June.

We train our staff to take great care of our guests and resolve any issues. I am not sure what happened with this particular reservation but encourage any guest to speak with a Manager if they are not satisfied with their stay.

Our business center was having some problems in April periodically but am happy to report that it has been rectified with an enhanced security system for your convenience!

We got a $79 deal on this hotel and the pics made it look amazing and touted the recent renovations. We got placed on the first floor (no privacy/view of parking lot) the first night in an empty hotel - we were happier when we got moved to the fourth floor the next night. The rooms were average size, the king beds felt small, and the linens were less than luxurious. All in all, it was a $79/nt hotel: nice, clean, but nothing special.

We stayed at the Doubletree for a wedding. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The complimentary cookies are a nice touch and delicious! They were starting to renovate the hotel the day after we left. We stayed in a King with sofa, the room was large and the bed comfortable. Wifi was free and the connection was great, we didn't have any problems with it. The shower pressure was good, but if you are over 5'6" you'd find it difficult to get under the shower head. All in all the hotel is fine.

“I was pretty happy with it”

Hi- I stayed at this hotel in June 07 and my experience was pretty positive. The room was very large, we had a king bed with a pull out; the room was clean and comfortable and hotel staff were nice. If you are coming to Philadelphia for the tourist experience, I would stay in one of the downtown hotels. But if you need to be in Northeast Philadelphia- close to the turnpike, Sesame Place, etc, I think this is actually a pretty good choice. In this area, there are a few Holiday Inns, a Radisson, a couple of lesser known chains and some independents- some of the independents are okay, others cater to the "day rate" crowd. The Doubletree is right on Roosevelt Boulevard (Route 1), well within the City proper; the others in that Northeast hotel cluster are closer to the city border or in Bucks County. A word to first time visitors: the area is not at all tourist-y. it is a residential section and the hotels are surrounded by strip malls and shopping centers and tend to be on major highways. If you're looking for a vacation experience, look elsewhere; but if you're in transit or have business in the Northeast, I think this hotel is just fine,
