“Great Staff and Location”

Pan Pacific Seattle

Feb 21, 2008

The staff was wonderful, very friendly and eager to please. Pan Pacific is primarily in the customer service business and then the hotel business. The location is good, it is within walking distance to the Seattle downtown sites, like Pike Market and the waterfront. A real plus is that there is a Starbucks connected to the hotel and Whole Foods is right around the corner. The downside is there is a charge for everything. Parking was $30/ valet for $28, no continental breakfast, pay for local calls, and so on. The room service was also not good at all for the quality of the hotel. My steak was overdone, the potatoes looked and tasted like they had come out a box and put in a microwave, no crab in the crab omelet.... Stay here but eat at Whole Foods or another restaurant downtown.

“Father/Son 2-nighter”

We arrived in the dark around dinnertime in the pouring rain. Of course we are used to this coming from the OTHER rainiest city in North America, Vancouver.

My son and I were on a "boy's bonding" trip so I booked a room with 2 queen beds. Overall I was very impressed. The staff was VERY good. The room was very tastefully decorated and the flatscreen LCD TV syatem was cool (although not quite as hip as the Hotel 1000). The room had a fantastic view of the Space Needle which was fun for my son.

I really hav no complaints save for the water pressure in the shower was a little anemic. Which is strange considering some of the other reviews mentioned that their water pressure was too much - go figger.

Anyway, if you cn book this for under $200 it is a STEAL. Even above that price the Pan Pacific is a quality place.

We got a very preferable rate, (let's just say it was under $150 per night) and I would highly recommend it.

One word of caution though, If you are the type that likes to sleep in be aware there is a big construction project going on next door that starts banging before 8AM.

Oh, and a parking tip. If you arrive after 6 PM and leave before 9AM (technically the clock starts at 8, but I'm a gambler) you can park for free on the street beside the Bank Of America.

The Pan Pacific followed up with a customer satisfaction survey and when I had one or two slight negatives on the multiple choice, they apologized personally via email. Nice touch.

this hotel has a great location for getting around Seattle. Our room was comfortable, but there was no hardware on bathroom sliding door, so it would not stay closed -
there is very little parking in this area - Hotel parking is $28.00 a nite, pricey
We did book a travel "deal" and front desk - wanted to remind us that we were getting a special "rate." they did let us check in early.
We would stay here again for a special occasion- but not at full price.

“Excellent Experience!”

Stayed at this property for one evening. The stay was excellent in all areas from the moment we pulled up to the door.
We were greeted promptly by the valet and our luggage was unloaded and we were escorted to the front desk. Check-in was less than 3 minutes with no problems and we in our rooms less than 8 minutes from the time we pulled up.

The personal assistant showed us the operation of the heat, state of the art television and phone systems along with room service menus and and explanation of the fitness center. These employees understand the meaning of service and attention to detail!

We booked the Preferences Package on the Pan Pacific website and used the 50% off the second room option. The rooms were King Suites w/ Space Needle View. Only one of these rooms is located per floor which was no problem. Morning paper of our choice was complimentary and our wake up call was right on time.

The room itself was clean, stylish and very comfortable w/ great view of the Space Needle and Lake Union. The bed, linens and pillows were luxurious and provided an excellent nights rest. The soaking tub was great and the amenities were very acceptable. Outside noise was almost zero except for the emergency vehicles when they operated sirens to get through traffic.

The shower stall does need some help. As mentioned in previous reviews, the floor will become wet due to the inability to adjust the shower head away from the door causing water to run down the door and drain to the exterior of the shower stall. The bath floor mat captured most of the water but beware when walking around in your socks!

Breakfast room service was tasty although a tad overpriced for the quantity and quality.

Hotel staff were very attentive to our needs and answered every request promptly and efficiently. From calling a taxi to retrieving some medication from our vehicle, all requests were greeted with a smile and the trademark "Of course" reply.

I am unsure if I would take children 12 or younger. Most of the time our children would do fine but every once in a while...

All in all a great stay and highly recommended.

“Pan Pacific - great hotel”

Pan Pacific Seattle

5 of 5 stars
Vancouver BC

We found that the Pan Pacific Seattle was true to the many reviews that we read on TripAdvisor. My wife and I went with another couple on Dec. 27 to 29, 2007 and, with a few minor negatives, we found the overall stay to be excellent.

We booked through hotels.ca, and got a rate of $183 CDN per night, including all taxes & charges (parking extra). This seemed like a very good rate for such a nice hotel.

First, the negatives: there was poor lighting in the bathroom for shaving, and poor lighting in the bedroom for reading. And the walk-in shower had no flow control - the shower head felt like a pressure washer, and it flooded the bathroom floor (poorly designed shower curtain, and no floor curb). We aren't "fussy" travellers, and I wouldn't normally complain about this type of stuff (and didn't mention it to the hotel staff) but I wanted to give an accurate review.

The positives more than made up for the negatives: a very quiet room, with a very comfortable bed; nicely decorated, clean room; large soaker tub, and large flat screen TV (we didn't watch it, but it is there if you want it). The numerous staff were attentive, friendly and very helpful. Normally, I could care less about the lobby (who spends time there?) but in the cold weather, it was nice to wait for people in the cozy chairs by the fireplace.

There was a fair walk (say 6 blocks or more) to the Belltown area (restaurants, bars, etc.) through non-touristy areas, but not at all threatening - we appreciated the walk after the great meals we ate, so not an issue, but it might be a problem for people who are not as mobile. But, we were right on the streetcar route, which will take people quickly to the downtown area where free buses run.

A couple other items: try the Tavolata restaurant (2323 Second Ave.) but get there by 6:30 or expect to wait. If you are a microbrew fan, try the Pike Place Bar & Grill - several good beers to choose from.

One final complaint: Parking at the Pan Pacific: $28 per night - I found that a bit rich. Maybe check out the prices at one of the nearby lots.

Overall though, I would definitely stay at the Pan Pacific again.
