“Loved this Hotel!”

Hyatt Place San Antonio/Riverwalk

This hotel is now a Hyatt and is beautiful! The staff was really excellent and very helpful. Our room was huge and great with young children as the divider allowed them to fall asleep while I could read or watch TV on the other side. We also enjoyed the heated pool. Although it is not on the main part of the Riverwalk, the walk to get to the attractions wasn't bad. We enjoyed this hotel and are planning to stay there again in April. The pics on this site are old and represent what the hotel was before it had been redone. Go to the Hyatt website to see a very accurate representation of what to expect.

“Great Hotel, just off the main "U" of the Riverwalk”

Wonderfully clean, neat hotel. All remodeled. Spacious rooms with living room area. Good view of the river. Safe. Free parking. Hotel personnel was always kind and helpful. The food was good too! Quick service food via touch panel in the guest kitchen. Went to the complimentary computers to check my e-mail while the food was being prepared. An employee came to get me to tell me it was ready. She didn't know I was there - she searched for me! Morning breakfast with Starbucks coffee very good way to start off the day. Staff helpful when asked where to find certain places in the city. In fact, they came running out to my car to give me better directions when they realized it. All staff greeted me as if I was coming home when walking in the lobby. Great pool. Warm and clean. Within walking distance to almost everything. We even walked two blocks to pick up our Enterprise Rental. The street out front was busy, but manageable when we when touring in our vehicle. Actually quite an amazing area. The Riverwalk in back of the hotel was well lit so we could come back from the main area of the Riverwalk at night. It actually felt more safe than the street level. The street level had quite a few people waiting for buses. Never felt unsafe, just out of my element. Was only approached by two pan handlers, but never near my hotel, only on the riverwalk.
I would stay there again definitely.

“Wait for the upgrade”

Hyatt Place San Antonio/Riverwalk

3 of 5 stars
Lexington, SC
Oct 6, 2007

We spent three nights here as part of a military reunion group. The renovation to a Hyatt Place which was expected "this fall" is apparently just getting started, so any comments on our room likely wouldn't apply to anyone visiting once overhaul is complete. The beds are okay, the pillows are lumpy, the bathroom door 'nicks' the toilet seat when the door is closed. Hyatt promises new beds, flat screen TV, etc.

The staff and service have been outstanding. Our room was "upgraded" from what we'd booked to get us farther above the renovations going on. Still from check-in at 3:00 until the end of the work day, it sounded like a dentist office with a drill constantly running.

The property is a short walk from the core of the Riverwalk commercial area with the sidewalk along the river right behind the hotel. We found it a much easier route to get to the Alamo, Rivercenter Mall, etc. than the road map. There is so much within a 10-20 minute walk.

Would love to come back to San Antonio and would consider this facility again if the price were right.

“Loved Amerisuites Riverwalk and loved the Riverwalk”

Hyatt Place San Antonio/Riverwalk

We were a group of five ladies that had our annual "Girls Vacation" in San Antonio and stayed at the Amerisuites Riverwalk. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the free breakfast was good. The Amerisuites is about a 15 minute walk from the main part of the Riverwalk, but it was a safe walk and we never felt uneasy. The only downside were the beds. I slept fine, but several in our group complained about how hard their bed was. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

“Great value, walk to riverwalk, bad beds”

Hyatt Place San Antonio/Riverwalk

4 of 5 stars
Colleyville, Texas
Aug 23, 2007

Walking distance to the riverwalk. Much better distance than many of the other hotels and if you are lazy, you can take the bus out there.
Beds were horrible. Rooms are small - we had a handicapped access room with bad storage.
Overall, a much better bet. Yes, rooms are not too good, but in San Antonio, what else do you need? A room close to the riverwalk.
