“Outstanding Customer Service and Location”

Hyatt Regency San Antonio

Hyatt Regency San Antonio was an ideal spot for our weekend getaway. Situated in the heart of the Riverwalk it has a great location. Upon check-in we were asked if we came for Fiesta. We actually had come for our anniversary not even knowing Fiesta was going on. The check in clerk said that he'd give us an upgrade and send something up. Later we received complimentary champagne and strawberries. This outstanding service was indicative of all staff of the hotel, from the concierge to housekeeping. Rooms had floor to ceiling windows and comfortable beds. I've stayed in more luxurious rooms, but it was quite pleasant. Our room also had an air purifier which was a nice touch so the air was always fresh. The restaurant looked only ok and we only got coffee in the morning so we could not comment on the food. The rooftop pool and hot tub were quite small but with great views of the city they were a welcome and relaxing break at the end of a long day sightseeing.
The hotel is set up for tourists which was perfect for us.

“Nice hotel, great location”

Hyatt Regency San Antonio

4 of 5 stars
San Francisco, CA
Apr 21, 2008

My husband and I are big UNC fans and stayed at this hotel during the weekend of the Final Four in San Antonio this year. The hotel did a really nice job of taking care of such a large crowd throughout the weekend. I think their staff was pretty worn out but they continued to be pleasant and helpful. We did not dine at the Hyatt so I can't speak to many of the amenities, but the room was nice, spacious, with a good bathroom and comfortable bed.

“great service and rooms”

Hyatt Regency San Antonio

5 of 5 stars
Michigan
Apr 1, 2008

Exceptional stay with incredible service. From check-in to check-out was very happy with service. Given an automatic upgrade to alamo view room. Room was terrific with the most comfortable beds. Hyatt chain must really be emphasizing customer service with their staff because they could not have been more helpful and attentive. The only downside was the pool was small and parking expensive. It was a very convenient location. Ground floor has exits to the alamo and riverwalk.

“Nice, But Needs Sound-Blocking Doors!”

Hyatt Regency San Antonio

3 of 5 stars
Dallas, Texas

My husband and I spent two nights at the Hyatt Regency on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. We were there for a conference, so did not choose the hotel specifically. The location of the hotel is great. Honestly, however, if you stayed anywhere on the Riverwalk, the location would also be great. I would not say that the location is the defining factor, although it was nice walking just a block to the Alamo.

The parking is across the street in a public lot and that worked out fine. The facilities are very clean and nice. The conference facilities were also nice. Staff was very friendly.

The one thing that was a huge bummer is that we asked for a "quiet room" and did get a corner one at the end of the hallway which should have been quiet by any standards. However, while the hotel has all of these nice amenities, the one thing they lack is doors that block sound out. Laying in bed we could hear every word that room service was saying to our neighbors outside and people talking in normal voices in the hallway. Nothing was muffled. I used ear plugs, but my husband, a normally sound sleeper, had a very tough time sleeping.

If the hotel could just use some of the money for thicker doors that go all the way to the carpet (minus the 2 inch gap), this hotel would be much higher rated in my book. $200-300/night, I feel like this should have already been accomplished.

If we were to go back, we would probably choose somewhere else.

“Outstanding Location and Staff”

Hyatt Regency San Antonio

Mar 14, 2008

I really liked this property. I travel extensively and it's been quite some time since I've encountered a staff as helpful, courteous, and friendly as the people at this hotel. Someone is doing a good job of ingraining a consistent culture of customer service. I believe the hotel was recently renovated, but to me everything seemed a bit 70ish in look and feel (walls, furniture, bed, TV, etc.). Not ugly, just a bit dated. I also thought the bath towels were kind of worn. That said, the place was clean and the room was quiet, comfortable, and spacious. You absolutely cannot beat the location. The Alamo is about 100 yards directly outside the front door of the hotel (some rooms overlook it), and the riverwalk is directly outside the back doors of the hotel. The Riverwalk is a blast with great food, shopping, and entertainment. I'd definitely recommend this property. Superior staff and location.
