Like others have said...the location is very good. It is attached to the Mall which is nice and a good "cut through" in hot weather.

There was a very large conference there at the same time as our visit. It definately impacted the elevators, especially when the days activities were ending. We spent a lot of time waiting for elevators.

Every staff member that we encountered was nice, knowledgeable, helpful and pleasant. The breakfast buffett was included in our package and we loved it. Nice touch was the breakfast bars and other snack type items that you could take with you. Food was excellent as was the waitstaff and cooks.

The rooms were a bit small but okay. We had a great view of the city. Housekeeping was great and our room was kept spotless.

We paid $229 and that included self parking ($21 per day otherwise) and breakfast (about $38) so we were pretty happy. New functionality on the Marriott website allowed me to reprice this reservation several times. I started at $285 with nothing included.

I was pleasantly surprised with my 4 night stay for a convention. The staff was wonderful and very polite. Check-in was about the quickest I've ever experienced at a large hotel. I had a standard double room with lots of room and a great view. Yes, they are still renovating a few out of the way places, especially on the second floor, but that was hardly noticeable. The restaurant on the second floor was very good and reasonably priced, especially the breakfast buffet. Terrific location for the Riverwalk, Alamo and the Mall. You have to walk about a block to get to the Convention Center but it's a nice walk. If you don't take the Riverwalk to the Convention Center, you have to walk through the other Marriott (RiverCenter) across the street to get there. The Market Place or Mercado was just a short (10 min) bus ride down the street that the hotel is on and a bargin for $1. There are several great Mexican restaurants there and well worth the trip. I thought this was a great hotel and would not hesitate to book it again if I'm ever in San Antonio again.

I stayed here for 3 nights in May on business. It's right on the Riverwalk and connected to the Rivercenter Mall. Very convenient to walk to the Convention Center. Rooms are clean and housekeeping does a good job. They have a work out room that has sufficient cardio equipment but the weight machines are better. They have an indoor and outdoor pool that is connected. Overall a great stay.

What you have here is an ok hotel in a great location. The rooms were small, and pricey. The major plus was the close proximity to the riverwalk and the local attractions. The restaurant in the hotel had great food for not too much cash, and the lounge/bar was also great with great service. (really nice place to relax and chat) The only problem was a massive christian youth convention and there were literally THOUSANDS of kids all comming/going at once and it caused major delays and bottlenecks. Check with front desk before booking to ensure this isn't going on when you go. Location is great, but there are better hotels to stay in for the same or less money.
