Before our trip to ResortQuest Pacific Monarch, I read the reviews on tripadvisor.com and they didn't seem too bad, and some were wonderful. We rented our unit through Aloha Waikik Vacation Condos. I realized immediately that the condition of the units, and the service you receive depends on who owns the unit. We were not advised prior to our trip that some units were independently owned, and if you were unfortunate enough to have made your arrangements through an independant owner, you had no guest services. We found this out when we told the front desk that the drain in the bath tub didn't work properly...we were told that we had to contact the owner of the unit. When we called to tell them that there was a cockroach in our unit...they again told us to contact the owner..when we contacted the owner, he sent the cleaning lady to spray the unit, but only after letting me know that they don't bite, and were cleaner than flies or mosquitos!!! When we wanted to purchase a paper at the front desk, they asked what unit we were in...and yes...we would have to pay a higher rate because we stayed in a private unit. They also had internet, but the price quoted on the sign at the desk was 1/2 the price stated on the sign in our unit..and we would have had to pay cash (Hmmm, could this be because our unit was independantly owned and we were getting the shaft??)Our garbage bags for the kitchen trash can were just small shopping bags, the carpet was old and stained, the drain didn't work properly, and the unit as a whole was completely outdated. If you plan to stay at ResortQuest Pacific Monarch, you better call ahead and make sure you will have guest services and also bring roach traps. The ResortQuest Pacific Monarch has such potential if they would put a little money into it. It's location is convenient and close to the beach...but that means nothing if it is filthy and completely outdated.
