An ideal way to discover Stratford is by joining the award winning Stratford Town Walk. There is a guided public walk every day of the year - even Christmas Day!. The guides tell the Shakespeare story, show you the 3 Shakespeare Town Houses, Grammar School, Royal Shakespeare Theatres, Holy Trinity Church and much more. The entertaining commentary brings the history of the town to life. There are tales of fires, flooding, the plague, mediaeval cures and the origins of old fashioned cures. You are also given discount vouchers to use at selected shops, restaurants and attractions - like the Shakespeare Houses and the open top tour bus. Just turn up at the Swan Fountain in Waterside, opposite Sheep Street. Mon, Tue and Wed at 11am. Thu, Fri, Sat & Sun at 2pm. Christmas Day at 10.30am.
For evening entertainment, try the award winning Stratford Town Ghost Walk. It is an entertaining spooky evening walk around the historic streets to hear tales of ghosts, witches, murder and mayhem. Be afraid, very afraid. All guides are members of Equity and professional magicians. Could be a magical evening! Walks Mon, Thur and Friday at 7.30pm, but due to popularity places must be reserved in advance.
Stratford Ghost Cruise is an evening cruise along the beautiful River Avon to hear ghostly stories from Stratford and further afield. The Man in Black, professional magician will entertain with a little magic. Covered boat and mini bar to raise the spirits! Cruises run from Easter to Halloween. Advance bookings only.
