For a restaurant that literally sits on one of the busiest tourist strips in the city (just across from Ford's Theater, where Abe Lincoln met his end, and surrounded by tacky souvenier shops), this bistro offering hearty southern French fare (with an occasional offering from outside the region) is surprisingly one of the best in the neighborhood, and can frequently be filled with the lawyers, lobbyists and news reporters who occupy the nearby buildings during lunch.
The food is always very good and well presented. The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. The decor is so Languedoc that you'll feel that you have been transported to southwestern France when you walk through the door. The service is always impecable. Bernard, the chef, and his son Benoit are gracious hosts. A wonderful place to visit and visit again. Vive le Languedoc!
